Gilbert Days, the town’s annual celebration of its heritage, will be held Nov. 18-20 with several events planned both from the town and other sponsors.

The highlight is the Gilbert Days Parade where local schools, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and special interest groups march down Gilbert Road in the Heritage District.

The parade begins at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 19 on Gilbert Road and runs between Elliot Road and Juniper Avenue.

Parking can be found throughout the Heritage District, and multiple road closures will take place throughout the morning.

If the parade rains out, an alternate date of Dec. 7 has been set.

Finishing alongside the parade is the Gilbert Days Half-Marathon, 10K and 5K run from the Shun the Sun Foundation.

The runs also bring road closures in town. Each starts at Verde at Cooley Station at 3975 E. Williams Field Road, Gilbert, and takes a different route to the finish line in the Heritage District.

The races cost $35-$95, depending on the race, with start times staggered from 7-7:40 a.m., depending on the race.

Overall male and female winners will be recognized along with age group winners.

An expo will be held at the finish line with more than 30 health and fitness vendors. Registration can be done online at https://gilberthalfmarathon.org.

The Gilbert Days Festival, a more recent addition to the event, features musical entertainment, food and drink, shopping and family fun.

The two-day festival will be held from 4-9 p.m. Nov. 18-19 at Gilbert Regional Park, 3005 E. Queen Creek Road.

The festival will have products ranging from Gilbert gear to home goods.

Local musicians Chauncey Jones and Matt Farris will perform Nov. 18 The Retro Connection and 24K Magic-Bruno Mars on Nov. 19.

A family fun area features 10 or more inflatables and backyard games at no additional charge.  All activities inside the event are free.

Presale tickets for ages 13 and up are $5 and general admission at the gate is $10, plus fees. Children 12 and under are free. Tickets are available at www.gilbertaz.gov/departments/parks-and-recreation/special-events-and-permits/gilbert-days/gilbert-days-concert.

The town will hold a softball tournament with men’s, women’s and coed divisions Nov. 12-13 at Freestone Park and Cactus Yards. It costs $375 to register a team, which is done through Gilbert Parks and Recreation Department.

Finally, the Gilbert Days Rodeo returns Nov. 18-20 at the Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre, 20464 E. Riggs Road, Queen Creek.

Tickets run $12 for children and seniors, $18 for adults, $25 for box seats and $70 for families. A Harry Luge concert Saturday will cost $10.
