Extension Road project begins Sept. 29 in Mesa

A roadway resurfacing project begins Sept. 29 for Extension Road in Mesa

Work will begin on the south half of the project from Baseline Road to Eighth Avenue on Sept. 29 through Nov. 13. The north half work will begin from Eighth Avenue to University Drive on Oct. 15 through Nov. 27. The full project is expected to be completed by the end of the year, according to a release.

The project will provide enhanced bicycle lanes along Extension Road from Baseline Road to Main Street. Originally planned for 2022, the improvements were delayed to accommodate utility upgrades. With those now complete, Mesa is moving forward as part of its long-term commitment to roadway safety, the release states.
