To accommodate increased demand projections and to allow for greater flexibility, Fujifilm is proposing to build out a 20-acre portion of the western half of their property and approximately 11 acres of newly acquired property consisting of five parcels.
The look and landscaping for a 79,745-square-foot expansion at a Fujifilm Electronic Materials industrial facility on 61.6 acres approximately 1,000 feet north of the northwest corner of East Pecos Road and South Mountain Road in Mesa will be discussed Tuesday.
The Mesa Design Review Board meets at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at City Hall, 20 E. Main St., in part to discuss the development.
The law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP submitted an application for a rezoning, site plan approval and design review on behalf of Fujifilm Electronic Materials U.S.A. Inc. The architectural design for the proposed project is to complement and be consistent with the existing industrial uses in the area and the current Fujifilm facility, according to a written project narrative.
“The existing raw material warehouse, solvent storage warehouse, finished goods warehouse and isotainers — special containers to store and transport hazardous and non-hazardous liquids — storage areas all need increases in spatial allotment to account for continued growth,” it states.
The all-volunteer Mesa Design Review Board is unique in that its composition is set by the zoning ordinance to include two architects; two from other design professions such as landscape architecture, engineering, urban planning, interior design or other design-related background; one contractor or developer; and two residents, according to the city’s website.
