The local Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter No. 2560 is hosting a Christmas in July online auction to raise funds for Wreaths Across America Remembrance Day on Dec. 13.
The wreaths will be set out at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Mountain View Cemetery, both in Mesa.
“We are close to our goal and are short 200 wreaths to make sure wreaths will be placed in our two cemeteries for our interred veterans,” according to a release. “One fun way is to do an online auction. Please go to the website below and look through items which are up for auction. You can bid as many times you wish.
“Remember, if you have a loved one in another cemetery, if Wreaths Across America participates in that cemetery, we can assist you in having that wreath placed on WAA Remembrance Day, Dec. 13,” the release states.
