Biggs, Schaffner advance uncontested in CD5 House race

No drama in Congressional District 5 — the Republican incumbent and Democratic challenger were running unopposed in the primaries.

But Tuesday’s election validated the November general election will pit incumbent Andy Biggs against challenger Katrina Schaffner, a Ukrainian-American and activist.

Biggs had 71,680 votes in the Republican primary while Schaffner had 35,426, both considered 100% for the respective elections as of Wednesday morning.
