A Larry H. Miller Collision Center Mesa is to be constructed on 4 acres north of Baseline Road and east of Mesa Drive in Mesa.
The site plan and design for the auto repair facility were approved by the Mesa Design Review Board in a 4-0 vote Sept. 12. Board member Paul Johnson was absent.
As part of the land being rezoned in 1988, the board is to review development site plans, elevations and landscaping for Lots 2 through 7, which include the new collision center, according to a written staff report from Staff Planner Joshua Grandlienard.
“The site plan proposed is for a 42,000-square-foot industrial building for a car-repair facility at the end of an existing flag lot which is going to be screened with an 8-foot screen wall as required by the (planned-area development) and the design guidelines for the overall case. And all ingress and egress will be from Auto Center Drive located on the south side of the site,” Grandlienard said at the board meeting.
Bryce Quigley of Kimley Horn is the applicant. LHM MFD LLC is the owner.
The all-volunteer Mesa Design Review Board is unique in that its composition is set by the zoning ordinance to include two architects; two from other design professions such as landscape architecture, engineering, urban planning, interior design or other design-related background; one contractor or developer; and two residents, according to the city’s website.
