Arizona lecture series returns to Apache Junction

Posted

The Apache Junction Unified School District is bringing back the Arizona Lecture Series starting in January 2022.

“Though it’s not a full season, we still promise to leave you with more information about the great state of Arizona,” according to a release.

This year, the Arizona Lecture Series will start Monday, Jan. 24, with Ken Sorensen speaking on “NASA in the 1960s.” Doors open at 6 p.m. with the lecture beginning at 7 p.m. at the Apache Junction Performing Arts Center, 2525 S. Ironwood Drive.

Tickets are $5 per person, with season tickets sold at $30 and sold up until the first lecture of the season, the release states.

Season tickets will be available for purchase Dec. 1 and regular show tickets will be available beginning Jan. 10. Purchase Tickets at ajusd.org/domain/2055 or make checks payable to A.J.U.S.D. (Apache Junction Unified School District) and mail to 1575 W. Southern Ave. Apache Junction, AZ 85120.

Tickets will also be sold at the door each Monday night during the season.

The season will be six weeks every Monday night until Feb. 28, 2022.

“If you purchased a season ticket back in 2020, we do ask that you still hold onto those as they will be credited for our 2023 season, where we hope to have a full 12-week schedule,” the release states.

AJUSD will not enforce a mask policy nor will social distancing be in effect for any of the Arizona Lecture Series program.

“However, we do recommend you wear a mask, and stay a good distance away from other groups or individuals. And remember, if you are not feeling well, please stay home. AJUSD will not reimburse you for your ticket but we will be able to credit your purchased ticket for a different lecture for this season. We look forward to seeing you all soon,” according to the release.
