An upcoming photography exhibition at HD SOUTH in Gilbert will showcase work from two artists examining American landscapes and culture through distinct visual perspectives.
“Americana – Route 66 and Home of the Brave,” presented by Art Intersection, runs from June 27 through Aug. 8 in Gallery 4 at HD SOUTH, 10 S. Gilbert Road. An opening reception is scheduled for June 27 from 2 to 4 p.m.
The exhibition features photographers Kerrick James and Neil A. Miller, whose work collectively reflects interpretations of the United States during its 250th anniversary.
James presents photographs captured along Route 66, spanning from Chicago to Santa Monica. His work draws on decades of documenting the historic roadway, which marks its 100th anniversary this year.
Miller’s photographs focus on people and places across the United States that are often overlooked in travel narratives, offering a broader view of the country’s identity and experiences.
Organizers describe the exhibition as an opportunity for viewers to reflect on their own experiences while engaging with varied interpretations of American life and landscape.
