$534K slurry-seal contract approved for Apache Junction roads

A more than $530,000 slurry-seal project in March is to add a new protective pavement to various Apache Junction streets including in the Grand View Place subdivision.

The Apache Junction City Council voted unanimously Feb. 18 as part of a consent agenda with other items to approve a contract with Cactus Asphalt for $534,048.90, which includes a 10% contingency for unforeseen change orders.

It will be funded in the current fiscal year street sales tax budget as part of the Public Works Division’s fiscal year 2025 capital improvement and street maintenance plan, Public Works Manager Shane Kiesow wrote in a memo to the council.
