The section of the Sun Road alignment being abandoned is south of the southeast corner of Sun Road and Rawhide Street northeast of Apache Junction.

A portion of the Sun Road alignment easement in unincorporated Pinal County northeast of Apache Junction has been abandoned and extinguished.

The Pinal County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Feb. 5 to approve the change for property owned by Jennifer and Tanner Lamb.

The county doesn’t currently maintain a road on the alignment, Deputy Director of Public Works Celeste Garza told supervisors prior to the vote.
