The American Diabetes Association will host the 2025 Tour de Cure Arizona at Goodyear Ballpark on Saturday, Feb. 15, bringing together cyclists, supporters, and community members to raise awareness and funds for diabetes research, treatment, and education.
With diabetes affecting 1 in 10 Arizonans, this event is an opportunity to support efforts aimed at managing and preventing the disease.
Diabetes is one of the fastest-growing chronic conditions worldwide, with more than 38 million Americans living with diabetes. In Arizona, approximately 615,000 adults, or 10.6% of the population, have been diagnosed. Each year, around 34,400 new cases are reported across the state.
The ADA is focused on improving the lives of people living with diabetes and advancing research toward a cure.
Tour de Cure provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations, and companies to come together to support the ADA’s mission. Participants can choose from three cycling routes—6, 35, or 50 miles—designed for riders of all levels.
The ride will start at Goodyear Ballpark, 1399 S. Ballpark Way, with staggered start times at 9:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 10:00 a.m.
Following the ride, attendees can enjoy a community celebration with live music, a farmers market, a kids' zone, and other family-friendly activities. AZ Blue, a sponsor of the event, will offer free A1C testing, fresh vegetables, and health resources to help raise awareness and reduce the progression of diabetes in Arizona.
“This is a wonderful demonstration of our shared commitment to ending diabetes. Every mile ridden and every dollar raised brings us closer to a world free from the burdens of this disease as well as providing support for over 38 million Americans living with diabetes. Be safe. Live healthier," said Chris Henrichsen, of presenting sponsor Discount Tire.
