Argument at West Valley home ends with double-shooting, death

Posted

A man is in custody after a shooting early Thursday morning inside a home near Sienna Hills Parkway and McDowell Road, police said.

The shooting occurred just before 1 a.m. Aug. 27. A Buckeye police sergeant, who was off duty and still in uniform, was driving in a marked police car when she received a report of shots being fired. She had a suspect, a man in his 20s, in custody and “detained within minutes,” police stated in a release.

Officers arrived to find a 17-year-old girl with gunshot injuries. She was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. They also found a man in his 30s with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators learned all parties involved live at the home, the release stated, and an argument occurred followed by the shooting.

No one has been identified, and it was unknown whether the suspect is related to the victims, police said.
