The Pinal County Attorney’s Office has been authorized by the board of supervisors to enforce a Civil Hearing Office finding of violations against the Church of Uncommon Thought and owner M. Kent at 620 W. Tonto St. near Apache Junction, for having a trailer that appears to be used as living quarters.
The Pinal County Board of Supervisors on March 15 voted unanimously on a consent agenda with other items to approve authorizing the county attorney to do what is necessary, up to and including filing a complaint in Superior Court, utilizing appropriate resources to remedy the violations or filing liens for the cost of recovery.
“The property owner was found in violation of the Pinal County development services code for outside storage and parking — accessory uses for maintaining storage of a fifth-wheel RV, car, household items, and various other items without an established use on the property; outside storage and parking — recreational vehicle parking for maintaining storage of a fifth-wheel trailer that appears to be used for living quarters,” according to a Pinal County document.
Code compliance staff received three complaints about the property and inspected it in June and July 2022.
“Due to the RV not being connected to any type of septic, a complaint was forwarded to Environmental Health” after the July 7, 2022 inspection, according to a Pinal County timeline.
“Due to demand letters being returned ‘refused to sign,’ demand letters were posted to the property,” it states for July 25, 2022.
The case was heard by the Civil Hearing Office on Dec. 8, 2022. The property owner did not appear and was found in violation, it states.
The case was referred Jan 23, 2023, to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office for Superior Court enforcement, it states.
