Goodyear City Councilmember Brannon Hampton has been appointed to the National League of Cities 2025 Community and Economic Development Federal Advocacy Committee. In this role, Hampton will contribute to the league’s federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities related to housing, community development and economic opportunity.
With a background in business and finance, Hampton has a specialized point of view on the role of small businesses in Goodyear’s economy.
“I’m honored to serve on the National League of Cities Community and Economic Development Committee,” Hampton said. “As a small business owner, I believe small businesses are essential to Goodyear’s economy. We are focused on smart growth strategies that preserve our small-town character while still embracing progress. I’m confident the committee’s national perspective will provide insight on how to navigate these unique challenges.”
The National League of Cities represents municipalities across the country and advocates for local governments at the federal level. The organization’s president, Steve Patterson, mayor of Athens, Ohio, acknowledged Hampton’s appointment.
“NLC’s federal advocacy committees are vital for uplifting the voices and needs of America’s cities, towns and villages to decision-makers in Washington,” Patterson said. “I am excited to work with Councilmember Hampton and look forward to supporting their vision and leadership.”
The 2025 Community and Economic Development Committee is chaired by Missouri City, Texas, Councilmember Jeffrey L. Boney. The vice chairs are Pittston, Pennsylvania, Mayor Michael Lombardo and Walnut Creek, California, Councilmember Cindy Silva.
