The 12th annual Stand Up for Veterans event will take place Saturday, Oct. 11 at Arizona Christian University, 1 W. Firestorm Way, Glendale.

The opening ceremonies begin at 8 a.m., with services and activities continuing until 1 p.m.

Glendale Mayor Jerry P. Weiers, the Mayor’s Military Mission, and the Sandy Coor VFW Post No. 1433 lead this event.

Stand Up for Veterans has community-driven approach. The planning committee brings together city, state, and federal agencies, local businesses, nonprofit partners and veteran service organizations such as VFW Post 1433.

Their shared mission is to make life better for the men and women who have served this country.

For more than a decade, this one-of-a-kind gathering has connected thousands of veterans and their families with resources that matter most, such as employment opportunities, housing support, healthcare, legal assistance, and benefits guidance. All these services will be in one location, with no cost and no sales.
