After requests from some community members during recent a curriculum controversy, the Peoria Unified School District governing board at their next meeting will revisit what is commonly known as the “No DEI” policy.
The Aug. 27 agenda item is listed for discussion only, but revisions were brought forward at the request of board President Jeff Tobey for discussion.
The policy drew attention from the community after staff prohibited instructors from teaching three full texts in their entirety to grades 6-8 — one written by a Latina and two by Africa Americans.
