The $140 million expansion of Loop 101 between Interstate 17 and 75th Avenue will not be done by spring 2027 as originally planned, but the delays will push completion back a couple of months.
Arizona Department of Transportation spokesperson Judy Kioski stated in an email that two issues pushed the project completion back to next summer.
Additional joint and crack repairs were needed after the diamond grinding pavement treatment, resulting in more work time on that aspect, she stated. Then there are the freeway’s old sound walls.
