O'Connor finishes strong against Mesa contender for landmark win

Eagles come back to beat Red Mountain

Colton Fahndrich kept his head after losing a fumble late in the third quarter with his team trailing by five.

The O’Connor sophomore running back believed the defense would get the stop, and it did. Fahndrich paid them back threefold.

He scored all three O’Connor touchdowns in the fourth quarter on runs of 5, 46 and 13 yards to cap a 194-yard night. Combined with senior Jeremy Adeyanju’s 107-yard night, O’Connor (2-1) had the horsepower to upset No. 10 Mesa Red Mountain (2-1) on Sept. 11.
