Midwestern University will inaugurate Dr. Joshua C. Baker, as its 10th president and Chief Executive Officer during a ceremonial Monday, Sept. 14 on the university's Glendale campus.
Faculty, students, alumni, trustees, and distinguished guests will mark this historic milestone and celebrate the university's next chapter of leadership.
Baker also will take part in a investiture ceremony Friday, Sept. 11 at Midwestern's Illinois campus in Downers Grove.

The Arizona ceremony starts at 3 p.m. Sept. 14 in the auditorium at the Midwestern University campus, 19555 N. 59th Ave., Glendale.

Baker started with Midwestern in 2013. He began as an assistant dean in the optometry program, then moved to associate dean of clinical affairs.
His next role at Midwestern was the associate dean of academic affairs. Baker moved on to university vice president, then chief academic officer.
In May 2025, Midwestern University President and CEO Kathleen Goeppinger retired and Baker was named her interim replacement. He accepted the full-time role in September 2025.
