Glendale residents unsure of what to do with their live Christmas trees have a solution from the city. drop-off sites where residents can bring their holiday trees to be recycled from Dec. 26 to Jan. 4.

Residents can drop off their live Christmas trees at the following locations:

• Acoma Park - 53rd Avenue and Acoma Road, during regular park hours (6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily).
• Foothills Park - 57th Avenue and Union Hills Drive, during regular park hours (6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily).

• O’Neil Park - 64th and Missouri avenues, during regular park hours (6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily).
• Rose Lane Park - 51st and Marlette avenues, during regular park hours (6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily).
• Sahuaro Ranch Park - southeast corner of 63rd Avenue and Mountain View Road, during regular park hours (6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily), on the west side of the park in the lot closest to the dog park.
• Fire Station No. 156, 6801 W. Deer Valley Road, outside anytime.

• Heroes Regional Park Library, 6075 N. 83rd Ave., from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Residents also can leave holiday trees out to be picked up during the city’s regular, monthly bulk trash collection scheduled for their areas. Anyone wanting a tree recycled must remove all stands, ornaments, tinsel and other decorations from it before dropping it off.

The holiday trees are ground and used for landscaping in order to help the environment.

“These trees are used for multiple purposes and by recycling them we are all doing our part to help the environment,” stated Johnny Morales, supervisor for Solid Waste - Recycling in Glendale’s Field Operations Department, in an email.
