Credit unions pick up tabs at West Valley restaurants

Arizona Credit Union Week is returning for its fourth year in October, bringing together 18 local credit unions to support Arizona communities, businesses and nonprofits while promoting financial education.
One of the week's most anticipated events is Pay It Forward Day, taking place Tuesday, Oct. 13, when participating credit unions will visit locally owned businesses across the Valley and surprise customers by picking up their tabs.
Participating West Valley businesses include:
Proof Bread at 13331 W. Indian School Road, Suite 202, Litchfield Park. Available from 8 a.m. until supplies last.
The Black Sheep Coffee, 5717 W. Glendale Ave., Glendale. Available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Eric's Family Barbecue, 12345 W. Indian School Blvd., Avondale. Customers visiting from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tre Bicchieri, 6885 W. Bearsley Road, Suite 180, Glendale. For diners eating between 3 and 6 p.m.
The credit unions mark International Credit Union Day Oct. 15 and wrap the week Oct. 16 with financial education events for Valley students.
