Storm flooding forces temporary closures at Gilbert parks

Monday’s storm that brought heavy rainfall across the Phoenix area left several Gilbert parks flooded or waterlogged and prompted temporary closures as town staff assess conditions.

Town officials said the affected areas include all multiuse fields and ballfields, which will remain closed until at least Friday when conditions will be reassessed. Freestone Park  ballfields will be evaluated daily beginning Wednesday.

McQueen volleyball courts, Desert Sky Park, Crossroads Dog Park, and all neighborhood park turf areas are also closed due to standing water and saturated turf.
