The Gilbert Redevelopment Commission on Wednesday approved a conditional use permit for ground-floor residential units in the planned South Anchor development, a key project in the town’s Heritage District.
Located at the northwest corner of Gilbert and Elliot roads, the project spans 2.8 acres and includes 175 residential units and 14,600 square feet of commercial space across two buildings.
The request approved by the commission allows 31 ground-floor units, most of them one-bedrooms, with no residential units facing Gilbert or Elliot roads. The west elevation along Ash Street will feature a “brownstone style” design, consistent with the project’s development agreement.
