The volleyball teams at San Tan Charter School in Gilbert recently donated $1,000 to Mandy McConahay, an East Valley woman who battled breast cancer.
This is the eighth year in a row that the school’s volleyball teams have organized a fundraiser and raised money for a local resident who was diagnosed with breast cancer.
McConahay, who is now in remission, will put the money she received from San Tan Charter School into her Smile Like Mandy program, which raises funds for people who are in treatment for cancer and are struggling to pay their bills.
