July marks the 40th anniversary of National Park and Recreation Month. Gilbert is marking the month with new ways to connect, play and shape the future.
This year’s national theme, “Build Together, Play Together,” celebrates the power of parks and recreation to create strong, healthy communities.
Throughout July, the town is encouraging the community to explore local parks and pools, participate in recreational program and attend special events.
In addition to the recent Fourth of July event, Parks and Recreation will host a free "dive-in movie night" July 25.
Doors open at 7 p.m., and the movie begins at 7:30 p.m.. Guests are encouraged to bring a float and enjoy a family-friendly film under the stars. Registration required.
Gilbert also is launching a new set of interactive Parks & Recreation dashboards, giving the community an inside look at how they’re performing in key areas like:
These dashboards are powered by real-time community feedback and staff data to help us make smarter, data-driven decisions.
