The mobile unit aims to reduce barriers to care by bringing mammography services directly into communities.
Emily Duran, outreach coordinator for The BIG Pink Bus, said the partnership with Bashas’ has helped make the service more accessible.
“By positioning our mobile mammography unit in familiar community locations, we're removing barriers and bringing healthcare directly to women's neighborhoods — making it easier than ever to get this essential screening,” Duran said.
Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. Screenings will be available from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Health insurance will be billed for those who are covered. A Banner Health social worker will be on-site to assist uninsured patients with financial support options.
Gilbert residents can also support the initiative by donating to the Banner Health Foundation at checkout at any Bashas’ or Food City location.
