A Phoenix nonprofit who offers help in vocational rehabilitation, special education, employment support and independent living services — is celebrating its eighth anniversary.

Business Name: ANB Services LLC

Town/Neighborhood: 31st Ave. and Peoria Ave. — Phoenix, AZ 85051

Hours of operation: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Personal background highlights: Our leadership and staff bring personal life experiences that fuel our passion for advocacy, independence and education. Many of us have firsthand experience navigating disability services or supporting loved ones through similar journeys.

Professional background highlights: We are a team of experienced professionals in vocational rehabilitation, special education, employment support and independent living services. Our staff holds certifications in support coordination, employment specialist services, and habilitation training—allowing us to offer a holistic, individualized approach to each client's goals.

What I do: At ANB Services, we empower individuals with disabilities to develop life skills, find meaningful employment and explore post-graduation opportunities through community integration and supported education. We serve as advocates, educators and cheerleaders for each individual’s journey.

What I like most about doing business here is: I love to market my company at community events including schools! I enjoy bringing up new and creative ways to reach the young generation to utilize skills that will help their futures. I have had my own personal mission to increase the level of knowledge for the necessities of after graduation including understanding strengths, environments, human rights, long-term vs. short-term goals and so much more.

Changes I’d like to see in this area: I would love to see more inclusive, accessible community spaces for people with disabilities — places that foster employment, creativity, and belonging. Increasing collaboration between local schools, businesses, and service providers could create even more bridges for youth and young adults transitioning to adulthood.

What am I promoting: We’re promoting our wide range of services including pre-employment transition services, work readiness, independent living skills, supported education, habilitation and job coaching. We’re also spreading awareness about how families and educators can partner with us to support individuals with disabilities.

What I’m excited about and why: We’re excited about our upcoming eight-year anniversary and our plans to expand services into new school districts and underserved areas. It’s a huge step forward in ensuring that every young person, no matter their ability, has access to the support they need to succeed.

Favorite community cause and why: One of our favorite causes is hosting community networking and dog adoption events. These events not only strengthen local business collaboration but also give our clients valuable hands-on experience. Partnering with organizations like Maricopa Animal Care and Control and HALO allows us to help animals find homes and introduce our members to the healing benefits of emotional support companions.

When and why, I started my business/employment here: I started ANB Services because I saw a gap in support for young adults transitioning into adulthood—particularly those with disabilities. There was a lack of personalized, future-focused services that addressed both personal growth and career readiness. I wanted to change that.

Where I was before and why I left: Before ANB, I worked in other care agencies and educational roles. While those experiences were valuable, I felt limited in how much change I could create. I left because I knew I needed to build something more responsive, innovative, and person-centered.

My family: My family has been my rock—always encouraging me to lead with compassion and perseverance. They remind me daily of the value of community service and making an impact.

My interests & hobbies: I enjoy hosting events, working with animals, brainstorming outreach strategies, and exploring new ways to educate and inspire young minds. I’m always thinking of creative ways to blend service and learning!

People who inspire me (and how): Our CEO, Mei Lin Ford, continues to inspire myself and our team to continue the love and understanding to better embrace their needs, growth and progress.

My guiding philosophy: "Empowerment is born from understanding. The more we educate, advocate, and connect— the more capable our community becomes."

My advice to today’s youth: “A goal with no plan is just a wish.”
