Higley Unified School District has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Association of School Business Officials International for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30.  

The recognition reflects HUSD’s commitment to transparency, accountability and sound financial stewardship — core principles of the district’s strategic plan anchor for finance and operations.  

The award underscores the district’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards in financial reporting, ensuring that every dollar is managed with integrity and in the best interest of students, staff, and the community, according to a district release. 

“This honor is a testament to the hard work and professionalism of our finance team,” Superintendent David Loutzenheiser said in the release. “It affirms our commitment to operational excellence and fiscal responsibility, which are essential to supporting high-quality education and student success.”  

The Certificate of Excellence is awarded after a rigorous review process conducted by a panel of experienced financial professionals. Their evaluation ensures the district’s financial reporting is not only accurate but also accessible and transparent to the public.
