The Higley Unified School District governing board gave final approval to its fiscal year 2025–26 budgets during its June 24 meeting, ratifying a financial plan shaped by declining enrollment, legislative uncertainty and conservative assumptions.
The adopted maintenance and operations budget of $126.36 million totals $9.27 million less than the prior year’s revised budget, a drop driven by a projected loss of 300 students in average daily membership — an enrollment-based figure that is a key in the state’s funding formula — and the scheduled phase-down of the district’s maintenance and operations override.
The budget passed 5-0 on a roll-call vote.
