Higley board approves more virtual licenses for online learning

The Higley Unified School District has expanded its commitment to FlexPoint and the Florida Virtual School curriculum for online students at Higley Virtual Academy with the purchase of additional licenses for the district.

The HUSD Governing Board approved the additional licenses by a 4-0 vote Aug. 27 with Board Member Anna Van Hoek abstaining as she had not previously seen the curriculum, which was approved in 2020. That was two years before Van Hoek  was elected to the board.

But the latest approval was not a curriculum approval, but rather additional licenses.  The district provides FlexPoint with an initial license order, then is charged for any additional licenses used over the course of the year.
