GPS welcomes 172 new educators for school year

Gilbert Public Schools welcomed 172 new kindergarten through 12th-grade educators during its New Teacher Orientation on July 20 at Desert Ridge High School.

The event began with breakfast and a performance by the Desert Ridge High School Marching Band, directed by Stephanie Williams. New educators met colleagues before hearing remarks from Governing Board President Chad Thompson and Superintendent Jared Ryan.

Throughout the morning, participants worked with campus principals and instructional coaches while taking part in onboarding sessions, training and team-building activities. Teams from Professional Growth and Development, Talent Management, Technology Services, Teaching and Learning, and Administrative Services helped facilitate the orientation.
