When Gilbert resident Ron Abelar brews his morning coffee, there’s no fancy café menu or line of drive-thru cars. Just his trusty decade-old Black & Decker machine, a few scoops of grounds and a quiet start to the day.
“I like to enjoy a cup every morning,” Abelar said. “Just whenever I wake up, I’ll throw a couple scoops in the water and get it going and eventually come back to it.”
He found his coffee maker — and matching toaster — at a garage sale about 12 years ago and has been brewing with it ever since.
