Gilbert to host adaptive recreation resource fair Aug. 22

Posted

The Town of Gilbert's Adaptive Recreation program will host its second annual Adaptive Recreation Resource Fair on Saturday, Aug. 22, at HD South, home of the Gilbert Museum.

The free event is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 10 S. Gilbert Road and is open to people of all ages.

The fair will bring together local organizations, adaptive service providers, vendors and community groups that support individuals with disabilities and their families. Organizers say the event is designed to help attendees learn about available resources while promoting community connections and inclusion.

Activities will include hands-on crafts, a sensory-friendly room and opportunities to meet with participating organizations. Attendees will also be eligible to enter drawings for door prizes.

The event is intended for caregivers, advocates, self-advocates and community members interested in adaptive recreation and accessibility resources.

Registration is available through Gilbert Parks and Recreation. Taryn Cantrell is listed as the event supervisor and instructor.
