Hale Centre Theatre to stage classic musical ‘Annie’

Hale Centre Theatre will present the Broadway musical “Annie” from Oct. 9 through Nov. 21.

The production follows Annie, a young orphan determined to find her parents. Her life changes when a fortunate turn of events brings her into the home of wealthy businessman Oliver Warbucks, who launches a search to help reunite her with her family.

Based on the popular comic strip character, the musical features well-known songs including “Tomorrow” and “Easy Street.” The production is considered a family-friendly favorite and explores themes of hope, perseverance and belonging.

The show runs approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.

According to the theater, the production includes mild verbal mistreatment by the character Miss Hannigan and references to her drinking, but ultimately tells an uplifting story suitable for audiences of all ages.

Tickets range from $45 to $65, with youth pricing available for ages 5-17. Children younger than 5 are not permitted.
