Gilbert revenue propositions appear to be winners

Completing the other 185 undeveloped acres is a priority capital project for Gilbert, among the planned projects eyed by Gilbert when it asked voters for permission to raise its expenditure limit and exempt capital improvement projects from the limit.

Voters appear to have given Gilbert the OK to spend its revenue and accelerate capital improvement projects ahead of the town's build-out.

Propositions 497 and 498 on the ballot each are winning approval by large margins and appear to have safely won approval as of the Thursday night release of votes Thursday evening from Maricopa County Elections Department.

However, results are unofficial until the canvass is approved later this month.
