Gilbert Public Schools hosting first districtwide college and career fair

Posted

The first districtwide GPS College & Career Fair is taking place at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28 at Gilbert High School.

This event offers an opportunity for students from all of our high schools to connect with a range of educational institutions and industry professionals in one place.

Each of the GPS comprehensive high schools hosts a college and career fair on their campuses, but this districtwide event brings together more schools and businesses. Students will have access to a wider variety of options to explore their interests and potential career paths.

While at the GPS College and Career Fair, students can expect to meet with academic advisers and industry professionals from:

  • 51 colleges and universities from both in-state and out-of-state schools, including junior colleges;
  • 10 trade schools in fields like aviation, healthcare, technology, and more;
  • 25 local organizations and businesses including the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Dignity Health, financial institutions, and other local businesses;
  • Post-secondary funding experts like Benji from FAFSA and the College Funding Coach.

To help students navigate the College and Career Fair, the StriveScan app will be available to all participants. This tool allows students to select their areas of interest, track their connections with potential employers and academic advisers and access information about tables they weren't able to visit during the fair.

All GPS students who are looking to learn more about their options after graduation should register for the College and Career Fair through StriveScan.

Students can register while at school or by visiting StriveVisit.com. Parents can register their students by visiting StriveScan.com.
