Gilbert intersection improvement project under way

Crews will work on improvements of the Guadalupe and McQueen roads improvements.

Construction began the week of Aug. 31 on a major intersection improvement project at Guadalupe and McQueen roads in Gilbert.

The project is designed to improve traffic flow and enhance safety for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians. Work is expected to take approximately 11 months to complete.

Planned improvements include new left- and right-turn lanes on all approaches, an additional through lane in each direction, a new traffic signal and upgraded street lighting.
