Gilbert council will consider fate of old trees in one neighborhood

Residents of College Park Country Estates will have an opportunity to make their case to keep some mature trees that line the neighborhood’s streets at Tuesday’s Gilbert Town Council meeting.

The town has scheduled a public hearing at the meeting to consider direction related to the trees, which are in the town’s right of way.

Some residents of the neighborhood, located  north of Guadalupe Road and west of Lindsay Road, had been sent notice that the trees were scheduled for removal Dec. 16. At council’s Dec. 3 meeting, several spoke up to object to the removal during the public comment period.
