Gilbert has completed its transition to green containers for its manure collection program, replacing the black containers previously used for equestrian waste disposal.
The change took effect Sept. 22 as part of the town's ongoing solid waste and recycling operations. Residents using the manure collection program are now asked to place manure and approved materials in the new green containers.
Town officials said the transition is intended to align the manure collection program with Gilbert's broader waste management system and provide a consistent container color for organic material collection.
