Gilbert author finds purpose through stories of belonging

For nearly a decade, Mary Jantz was known to hundreds of Gilbert students as "Nurse Mary."

Today, the former Bridges Elementary school nurse spends her days chasing a different dream — one she says began long before she ever handed out ice packs, comforted nervous students or managed medications in the school health office.

The Gilbert resident and children's author has published multiple books over the past several years, building a growing catalog of stories centered on themes of belonging, resilience, empathy and perseverance.
