Light refreshments will be served, and a local choir will perform. A local pastor will offer a brief prayer.
Hundreds of people have attended the event in previous years, which organizers describe as a time for healing and community support.
“The event is always incredibly touching and meaningful,” said Bryce Bunker, president of Gilbert Memorial Park. “There’s something powerful about people coming together, supporting one another, and leaning on each other through their grief. Seeing all those lanterns representing such special people really fills your heart and reminds you why we’re all here.”
Gilbert Memorial Park staff said the tradition provides a welcoming space for anyone wishing to honor someone meaningful in their life.
