Two Gilbert-area students were among 59 Arizona recipients awarded scholarships by KRAF Inc., a family-owned Burger King franchisee, through the Burger King Foundation.
Bakari Nzou of Gilbert Classical Academy plans to attend Arizona State University to study biological sciences. Trishelle Christensen of Gilbert High School plans to attend Brigham Young University, where she will study exercise science.
The scholarships were presented during local ceremonies held at Burger King locations across Arizona, where recipients were recognized alongside their families.
