The city of Goodyear is taking its annual Mayor Select student art show on the road ... the digital road.

The virtual exhibit featuring the city’s talented young artists has previously been on display at the Goodyear Branch Library, but this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people will be able to visit the show from the comfort of their homes.

“We want to make sure everyone is able to view and enjoy the incredible pieces created by the young artists in our city,” Guylene Ozlanski, Goodyear Arts and Culture administrator, said in a news release. “Each year, I’m impressed with what our students create and it’s important that we share their talents and spread that inspiration to as many as possible.”

There is still time to submit artwork for the show. The Mayor Select Program is open to Goodyear students in the sixth through 12th grades. Scholarship awards will be given to the top artists. Submission deadline is Sunday, May 17.

For more information on the virtual showcase and how to submit artwork, visit the city’s website.
