Patti Serrano and Kurt Rohrs were the two unofficial leaders in Maricopa County Elections Department reporting early Wednesday morning in the Chandler USD Governing Board race.
With voters asked to pick the top two candidates, Rohrs garnered 24,156 of the first 61,640 votes reported by the county, or about 24%. As of 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, a 44% voter turnout rate was reported countywide.
Serrano had 24,004 votes, or 23%.
A substantial distance behind Serrano was Charlotte Golla, who had 19,925, or about 19%. Also with about 19% and not far behind Golla was the only incumbent competing for one of the two spots, Lara Bruner. She had 19,641 votes.
Rounding out the field was the fourth challenger, Marilou Estes, who had 14,820 votes, or 14%.
Board member Lindsay Love is leaving at the end of this term and is not on the ballot for this election.
