James Avery Artisan Jewelry has opened on the first level of the Chandler Fashion Center in Chandler.

The family-owned jewelry retailer was founded in Kerrville, Texas, where it still designs and crafts 90% of its sterling silver and 14K gold jewelry.

The  family business, started in 1954, has expanded through the years.

Recently, James Avery Artisan Jewelry has expanded into Arizona with the opening of two new stores in Chandler and Glendale and is offering a limited-time annual discount on select items.

The design center in Texas had to close temporarily due to deadly flooding in the area, but has reopened. The company asks for patience with delays on orders from the facility, in the weeks and months ahead, as it gets back to speed.

The chain also has state-specific charms and is donating proceeds from the purchase of specific items to a fund for flooding victim families.
