Chandler Sports Hall of Fame induction, luncheon Saturday

Posted

Eight people who have brought recognition to Chandler through their athletic accomplishments will be celebrated at Saturday's Chandler Sports Hall of Fame 2025 induction ceremony and luncheon.

The ceremony will be held in the Hamilton High School auditorium at 11 a.m., according to a news release.

This class of  inductees includes:

  • Ally Cheatham, cheerleading
  • Bob Callison, wrestling
  • Brooke Nuneviller, volleyball
  • Derrick Richardson, football
  • Jalen Williams, basketball
  • Kara Linder, fencing
  • Lerina Johnson, coach, badminton
  • Patrick Murphy, baseball

In addition to the inductees, the Sports Hall of Fame will give special recognition awards to two school staff. Hugo Ramos' honor is  for exceptional campus and athletic facility care; John Prothro has served as the "irreplaceable voice of Perry High School," the release states.

The Hall, along with the Chandler Museum, celebrate the rich history of Chandler athletics by honoring athletes, coaches and teams that have brought recognition to the city through their exceptional talent. This recognition might include national or statewide record-setting performances or contributions to the community and athletics in general.

Athletes who are from Chandler or lived in Chandler during the time of their achievement, or those who attended a Chandler school, are eligible.

The selection committee is comprised of former coaches, school administrators, athletes, and others with a genuine interest in the history of athletics in Chandler, the release states. Since 2004, the Hall has recognized some of the best athletes, coaches and teams that call Chandler home.

Tickets for the event, which includes both the induction ceremony and luncheon, are $25 and available online through Eventbrite.

Hamilton High School is located at 3700 S. Arizona Avenue, near Ocotillo Road, in south Chandler.
