The Chandler Symphony Orchestra’s 34th season kicks off with some specially themed concerts.
These include the first in the orchestra’s chamber music series with the 3 p.m. Sunday, October 11, concert at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, 23914 S. Alma School Road, south Chandler.
The chamber music series concludes in the spring with shows in February and April 2027.
The “Halloween Spooktacular” and fall festival are set for 6:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23 at Crossroads Nazarene Church, 2950 W. Ray Road, Chandler.
The orchestra is also partnering with Mariachi Oro del Sol from Arizona State University to celebrate Dia de los Muertos as part of this performance.
“Rooted Together” is a performance of classic compositions from Bach, Verdi and Respighi and featuring horn soloist Natalie Smith, The 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 8 show is at the Chandler Center for the Arts, 250 N. Arizona Ave.
“Rooted Together” will include Smith, joining the orchestra as a soloist on the Elizabeth Raum piece, “Sherwood Legend,” which presents three scenes from the Robin Hood story. Smith, who began playing horn with the Chandler Symphony as a fifth grader, is now a professional musician.
The orchestra returns to Risen Savior Lutheran for a 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6 “Deck the Holidays” show.
This annual Chandler Symphony favorite tries to celebrate community, the release states, as it’s a collaboration with Risen Savior Lutheran Church, Neighbors Who Care and local music educator and professional musician Antonio Lozano.
More regular shows are planned in early 2027 as part of the season.
