Teacher Stevie Lockhart of Payne Junior High reacts as Chandler City Council member O.D. Harris informs her she’s being honored as one of the city’s exceptional educators.
Chandler City Council member O.D. Harris announced, in a news release, recognition and celebration of 10 exceptional teachers and one distinguished administrator who serve schools within the city.
“These educators were selected from a competitive pool of community nominations for their dedication, innovation, and lasting impact on students’ lives,” Harris stated in the release. “This year’s honorees were nominated by students, families, and community members who value the educators’ commitment to academic excellence, mentorship, and community impact.”
Harris pointed out the educators on the list represent a diverse range of schools — public, charter, and private.
“This initiative is about more than honoring great teachers — it’s about uplifting those who serve purposefully in our Chandler classrooms daily,” Harris stated. “These educators but all share one common bond: their commitment to educating the young minds of Chandler.”
Harris stated the celebration is part of his ongoing mission to champion education, support youth development, and recognize the daily positive contributions of those who teach in the city. He thanked sponsors who helped with the celebration.
