Tandem bikes are just one of dozens of projects the Chandler Education Foundation’s Cash For Classrooms “Woohoo” program paid for this year.
The Foundation’s program funded 69 grant proposals with more than $104,000 in grant money this year, including special education teacher Karen Hudak’s proposal for tandem bikes to be used with visually impaired students.
Nicole Hehl, marketing and campaigns director for the foundation, said the Cash For Classrooms “Woohoo” program is one of several ways CEF helps Chandler Unified School District educators pay for special supplemental classroom tools and other items.
