Joshua Jumper of the firm Heinfeld, Meech & Co., P.C. presents an annual financial audit with an “unmodified” opinion to the Chandler City Council on Jan. 23.
Chandler’s annual financial audit was presented and accepted as one of the few actions taken by the City Council at its Jan. 23 meeting.
Joshua Jumper of Heinfeld, Meech & Co., P.C. presented the audit of city finances for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.
While it took him a few minutes to explain some of the language nuances of the audit, he had about as little to report as is possible.
Jumper said the audit allowed his firm to provide an “unmodified” or clean, audit opinion dated Dec. 20, 2024.
He said there were no internal control deficiencies noted.
The only complication listed in his presentation is there is that “COVID-19-related funding continues to require significant attention and focus for audit team.”
Based on reports from city finance staff and department heads, there should be considerably less COVID-19-related spending or funds involved in any fiscal 2025 reporting and fiscal 2026 planning than in recent years.
